About The Position

US Premier Tube Mills (USPTM) is a leading and growing domestic supplier of residential galvanized and powder coated pipe dedicated to quality, on-time delivery, and excellent customer service. USPTM has an immediate opportunity for an Electrical Control Technician! A maintenance technician, with a focus on electrical control, will perform diverse responsibilities to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, Calibration & Preventative Maintenance processes, and to ensure equipment is maintained in a validated state. Provide both service and support to internal customers. The focus of this role will include the installation of plant and production equipment, maintaining equipment, troubleshooting/diagnose equipment problems, providing service for unscheduled repairs/maintenance, and help complete equipment qualifications.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in the understanding & repair of Programmable Logic Controls
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting technical issues (Electrical & Mechanical)
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controls and Variable Frequency Drives
  • Knowledge in the installation, maintenance, and repairs of common mechanical systems found in an industrial manufacturing facility that require instrumentation
  • Ability to read and understand labels, blueprints, schematics, job site maps/directions, instruction manuals and/or written instructions accurately

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and start-up of process control and electrical systems
  • Repair electrical equipment, perform preventive and predictive maintenance, and complete projects
  • Utilize technical documentation (prints, manuals, specifications, etc.) to aid in troubleshooting
  • Accurately keep maintenance records of critical and quality-related plant equipment
  • Determine the root cause of failure and correct condition to prevent reoccurrence
  • Audit the maintenance program to include identifying and recommending opportunities for improvement
  • Repair failure using current procedures and recommend alternative methods of repair
  • Develop, document, and perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks to maximize equipment reliability. Generate out-of-tolerance reports, when required, for equipment found outside of acceptance criteria.
  • Drive continuous improvement at the plant level. Understand and comply with all OSHA, NEC, state/provincial, and local codes. Participate in plant training and safety programs.
  • Demonstrate safe work habits and proper care for tools and equipment
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Ability to wire, troubleshoot and repair 3 Phase 480 Volts Alternating Current (VAC) systems
