About The Position

The Electrical Control Panel Assembler will perform essential wiring of control panels for manufactured units, test wire assemblies and functionality, and identify problems while offering solutions. This role requires minimal direction and oversight, allowing the assembler to take initiative in building control panels according to schematics and layouts. The assembler will also be responsible for reviewing projects to determine any issues, ensuring the correct parts and drawings are used, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety throughout the assembly process.

Requirements

  • Previous work experience or education in electrical/mechanical wiring is a plus
  • Ability to read schematics and layouts
  • Experience with wire-to-wire processing (point-to-point)
  • Ability to use basic electrical hand tools (cutting, crimping, stripping)
  • Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply reasonable understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

Responsibilities

  • Build control panels using schematics and layouts
  • Review project and determine if there are any issues
  • Review work order for the correct parts and drawings
  • Layout and assemble the panels, including required components
  • Perform drilling, tapping and riveting activities as required
  • Determine the proper tools and equipment are available for every assembly
  • Follow build instructions to meet customer specifications
  • Perform all crimping and lugging activities and ensure wire Ty-bases are in the correct locations per the company's wiring standards
  • Perform all required quality inspections
  • Apply all required labels
  • Place panels in enclosures as required
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
  • Maintain good attendance and productivity of employees under direct supervision
  • Review projects to ensure efficiency is maintained
  • Follow and comply with all safety, work rules and regulations
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping standards
