About The Position

The Electrical Construction Inspector ensures electrical installations meet safety codes, regulations, and project specifications by inspecting work, identifying issues, and approving compliant systems.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Supervisor’s license issued by the State of Oregon and or an “A” level State of Oregon Electrical Inspector’s Certificate
  • Valid Oregon or Washington State driver’s license within 30 days
  • Knowledge of engineering, surveying, and construction terminology as well as standard practices and procedures.
  • Experience reading and interpreting plans and specifications

Responsibilities

  • Provides on-site inspection of work
  • Inspects materials, installation, layout of work, and evaluates its acceptability
  • Determines and notifies contractors of unacceptable material or work
  • Suspends work with Construction Managers (CM) approval
  • Acts as liaison between CM and contractor during construction
  • Perform or supervises quality control testing
  • May conduct weekly progress meetings with contractor
  • Maintains thorough and accurate records
  • Keeps a daily diary for each job assigned
  • Verifies quantities for contractors monthly pay estimate
  • Keeps as-built drawings current
  • Prepares Force Account documentation
  • Provides interdepartmental support
  • Assists survey crew as requested
  • Prepares documents and information for arbitration / legal action as requested
  • Reviews drawings and specifications of proposed projects for consistency with good construction practice, clarity, and internal consistency.
  • Provide inspection of construction for new facilities and refurbishing or rebuilding of existing facilities to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of projects during construction phase to document compliance with contract terms
