Parsons is looking for a Medium Voltage Electrical Inspector for underground and vertical construction projects located within an aviation environment in Austin, TX. The Inspector will be responsible for field verification, documentation, and coordination with contractors and stakeholders throughout the construction lifecycle. This Inspector will have the following responsibilities: Inspect medium-voltage electrical systems (typically 600V up to 35kV), including switchgear, transformers, feeders, duct banks, grounding systems, and protective devices. Ensure installations comply with contract specifications, National Electrical Code (NEC), IEEE standards, and airport authority requirements. Seeking Candidates with the following qualifications: Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry Demonstrated aviation-related construction experience, including work on taxiways, runways, terminals, and/or underground utilities Ability to pass a TSA criminal history background check In-depth knowledge of environmental codes and regulatory requirements Familiarity with discipline-specific codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IMC, IPC, SMACNA, IBC, IEEE) Ability to interpret and coordinate with third-party inspection reports Strong understanding of contract documents, technical specifications, and design standards Valid Driver’s License Additional Responsibilities: Conduct field inspections to verify conformance with approved contract documents and applicable codes Review contractor work for compliance with specifications, manufacturer instructions, and regulatory standards Coordinate daily activities with third-party inspectors and project stakeholders, including ABIA Operations, Environmental teams, City inspectors, and AUS personnel Document deficiencies and communicate findings to the Contractor, Construction Manager and CDS inspectors in a timely manner Support Construction Managers in verifying installed quantities for Pay Applications Maintain accurate daily inspection reports detailing work reviewed and observations made Participate in change management processes and assist in schedule evaluations Navigate and utilize project documentation including design drawings, specifications, Design Standards Manual, and contract terms Occasional night-time work may be required based on project demands We offer challenging projects, stability, great resources to support you, as well as competitive salaries and excellent benefits!

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry
  • Demonstrated aviation-related construction experience, including work on taxiways, runways, terminals, and/or underground utilities
