About The Position

LabVIEW Architect specializing in test equipment development with FPGA experience to support component and system level design verification. This candidate will join a team that is part of the Integration, Test, and Evaluation (IT&E) directorate, operating out of Missiles and Fire Control in Grand Prairie Texas. This team specializes in developing Emulators and Digital Twins, mostly used for system level verification and weapon system integration for multiple defense weapon systems. This Technology is delivered to the field where our team supports real world tactical engagements, as well as to the warfighter to defend our country and allies around the world. We design system level discrete, analog, digital, and RF emulators and test equipment. The team has a wide range of expertise, including Architects, Systems Engineering, Test Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Logistics, Electronic Technicians, Technical Leads, Integration, and Software Engineering. We have a very highly productive and recognized team, as well as a great team atmosphere. Most of the teams SW is object-oriented LabVIEW and Test Stand, but there is also C++ and Python, as well as LabVIEW FPGA and VHDL. Common architecture uses advanced LabVIEW frameworks. This position is for a lead Test System Architect who will be assigned a team of 4 to 7 engineers and will be responsible for the architecture of multiple complex test systems, from concept to full implementation. Candidate will also be responsible for identifying architectural solutions to modify existing test systems to support advanced weapon system integration. Candidate will organize test system requirements through system level requirements and subject matter expert (SME) stakeholder meetings, develop test system context diagrams, create an agile plan to implement test systems, assign stories and tasks to test system engineers, develop and integrate hardware and software modules, perform 100% code review and verify configuration control, implement continuous integration, and integrate finished test system.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work full-time in Grand Prairie, TX facility
  • 8 years in a LabVIEW and TestStand test program development role with FPGA experience
  • Experience in developing medium- to large-scale LabVIEW Embedded control and monitoring applications with COTS and/or custom test equipment
  • Certified LabVIEW Architect or equivalent work experience
  • Proficient in configuration control
  • Experience with National Instruments Hardware
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and able to work in a team
  • Experience in a role with responsibility to work with other organizations to achieve business results
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Experience in automation of the collection, measurement, and evaluation of data including the use of a wide range of test equipment such as power supplies, DMMs, Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, Frequency Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, and Network Analyzers.
  • Strong troubleshooting experience to include analog and digital circuits.
  • A self-starter with minimal to no oversight needed to complete assignments.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic work atmosphere where there is a need to be cooperative with a diverse team of different skillsets.
  • Must have engineering degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
  • This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
