About The Position

In this role, you will utilize your experience, knowledge, and expertise to perform required testing for facility commissioning and startup. You will participate in building test packages, assist in turnover coordination, equipment inspections, material management and quantities, quality control, and environmental safety and health.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in engineering, a hard science or mathematics from an accredited college or university.
  • Current or previously held industrial or military license/certification/qualification in electrical work.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience or a sufficient number of specialized courses in an appropriate engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Two to five years' experience in the testing or maintenance of low to medium voltage switchgear, transformers and power distribution systems.
  • At least two years' experience in supervising or managing craft electrical workers.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience and knowledge of Craig Technologies Startup and Test procedures.
  • Good understanding of project scheduling and performing system testing and commissioning.
  • Previous NASA or aerospace Electrical commissioning and testing experience.
  • Design experience to NASA communication standards and network architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Support plant start-up and commissioning processes.
  • Manage electrical commissioning for assigned systems and drive it to completion/handover.
  • Complete testing per Craig Technologies Corporate Standard Test and Commissioning Procedures (STCP) and Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPP).
  • Analyze assigned activities to determine the scope, time, and resource requirements.
  • Plan and schedule CSU execution activities including sequence and resource requirements.
  • Prepare test packages, reviewing engineering design, and vendor submittals.
  • Coordinate with Construction and other Commissioning disciplines to complete all required testing.
  • Provide direction to supplier Technical Advisors (TA) to complete commissioning of vendor supplied equipment.
  • Perform live electrical work in accordance with corporate procedures and guidance.
  • Review preventative maintenance procedures and schedules for maintaining equipment once it has been commissioned.
  • Supervise and direct subcontract personnel as required to support commissioning activities.
  • Prepare system testing and turnover documentation including scoped documents, test records, and test procedures.
  • Participate in Construction to CSU and CSU to Owner turnover walkdowns.
  • Initiate requisitions for field purchases and prepare quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
  • Perform and/or monitor testing of equipment to assure conformance with specifications.
  • Prepare job hazard analysis (JHA) and perform Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA).
