About The Position

While operating a computer-aided design (CAD) system, the CAD Operator prepares layout and designs of technical project data. Industry design specialization may exist (e.g. electrical substations, transmission lines, concrete foundations, steel structures etc.). From data and sketches develop professional looking design documents.

Requirements

  • Professional, articulate, and able to exercise good independent judgement and discretion
  • Highly organized, motivated self-starter
  • Proven record of delivering a high standard of quality work with exceptional attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and creating systems and plans where there are none
  • Flexible and able to adapt to a fast-paced environment with a quickly growing team
  • Good interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills; ability to interact successfully with Clients, Contractors, Vendors, and at all levels of the organization; demonstrates high emotional intelligence
  • A strong command of the English language
  • Experience: 2+ years of drafting or relevant experience
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good written and oral communications skills
  • Good interpersonal and people skills
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with and/or knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D, and Bentley MicroStation preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to frequent project changes
  • Ability to follow complex instructions and diagrams to create or modify drawings using company and client drafting standards
  • Accuracy and effectiveness in electronic drafting
  • Perform drawing and technology research
  • Coordinate with designers, technicians, engineers, and other personnel to incorporate concepts and information into drawing packages
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently with minimal oversight
  • Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed
