About The Position

We are ENG, #1 BIM services provider in the United States, specialized in hands‑on, field‑focused Building Information Modeling (BIM) services for large‑scale projects such as data centers, hospitals, airports, industrial plants, schools, casinos, and more. Our core business is MEP Modeling and Coordination, and we also provide services such as Steel Framing, Prefabrication, BIM for Facility Management, Scan to BIM, and Design Assist, along with an Innovation area that develops tools and apps for the AEC industry. Our purpose is to innovate and modernize the construction industry by leveraging BIM technologies to make our clients’ work more efficient. As a company, we value candor, accountability, and a win‑win mentality and work as a horizontal, highly collaborative organization. The Role – Electrical Business Unit Director (BUD) The Electrical Business Unit Director will lead a Business Unit (BU) focused on electrical BIM/VDC services for US‑based projects, with a strong emphasis on data centers and other mission‑critical facilities. A Business Unit in ENG is a group of approximately 15–30 team members with its own set of clients, portfolio of projects, P&L, and growth strategy. This BU will be fully dedicated to the electrical trade, delivering BIM/VDC solutions for complex, US‑based MEP projects. You will: Own the strategy, financial health, operations, and growth of the Electrical BU. Lead a multi‑layer team of Project Managers, BIM Coordinators, Technical Leaders, Job Captains, BIM Specialists, and Modelers focused on US BIM MEP delivery. Be the bridge between clients, project execution, and financial performance, ensuring high‑quality delivery, strong client relationships, and a motivated, growing team. This position reports to the Head of the Electrical Trade and to the C‑suite, and works closely with other BUDs across ENG’s delivery organization. Location, Availability & Time Zones: Remote role based anywhere in the United States, with availability across all US time zones and occasional travel to client sites and industry events.

Requirements

  • 10–20 years of experience in the AEC industry, with a solid, deep background in electrical systems and BIM/VDC for MEP.
  • Proven hands‑on BIM experience: you must have personally modeled using tools like Revit and Navisworks (profiles that only “managed” BIM without modeling will not be considered).
  • Mandatory: substantial experience delivering US‑based BIM MEP projects (physically in the US and/or remotely for US clients), including familiarity with US standards, construction practices, and workflows.
  • Prior experience as a Director or equivalent leader of BIM/VDC teams, managing 15–30 people across multiple seniorities and roles (PMs, Coordinators, Leads, Specialists, Modelers).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is strongly preferred.
  • Other degrees may be considered if paired with a very strong electrical focus, such as: Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction/Building Sciences, Applied Sciences, or Architecture, with a long and specialized track in electrical systems (e.g., many years in mission‑critical electrical projects).
  • Advanced, hands‑on proficiency with Revit and Navisworks for MEP/Electrical.
  • Professional experience with some of the following is highly valued: AutoCAD, BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud, Recap, Bluebeam or similar BIM/VDC tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive experience in mission‑critical or data center projects (not mandatory, but a huge differentiator given the BU’s portfolio).
  • Experience leading Electrical VDC / Prefabrication initiatives.
  • Prior experience in multi‑cultural, distributed teams across US + LATAM.

Responsibilities

  • Set and execute a 3–5 year growth strategy for the Electrical BU, aligned with ENG’s business objectives.
  • Position ENG as a leading electrical BIM/VDC partner for US data centers and complex MEP markets.
  • Own full P&L accountability, driving revenue growth, margin performance, and accurate forecasting.
  • Optimize profitability through data-driven pricing, staffing, and project portfolio decisions.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to key US electrical clients, managing scope, negotiations, and long-term partnerships.
  • Expand business through upselling, cross-selling, and new client development in mission-critical sectors.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, code-compliant, constructible electrical BIM models across projects.
  • Lead scalable QA/QC, risk management, and workflow excellence across parallel engagements.
  • Lead and develop a 15–30 person BU, fostering a high-performance, accountable culture.
  • Drive succession planning, career development, and hiring of top electrical BIM talent.
  • Champion adoption of BIM/VDC, automation, and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Maintain mastery of core tools (Revit, Navisworks, ACC, Bluebeam) and sponsor innovation in prefabrication and coordination.
  • Proven experience managing financial KPIs, forecasting, and business line performance.
  • Strong client-facing leadership with a track record of account growth and team mentorship.

Benefits

  • Profit Share Program: Quarterly performance‑based variable compensation, tied to company billing targets, BU goals, and individual performance.
  • Full Work Equipment: Laptop, headphones, wireless keyboard and mouse, monitor, chair, and all necessary software licenses.
  • Connectivity Stipend: Monthly allowance to cover internet and related expenses.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) access.
  • Flex‑Work Policy: Full‑time role, but you can organize your schedule flexibly as long as it is coordinated with your team and does not impact delivery. We focus on results, not face time.
  • Work‑From‑Anywhere Policy (with coordination).
  • PTO – “No Policy”: No fixed minimum or maximum number of days per year. No accrual, no expiry, no fixed vacation season. You coordinate time off with your team and project timelines.
