About The Position

Hypower is currently seeking a Commercial Electrical Assistant Project Manager to join our team. The salary range is $85,000 - $105,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. The Assistant Project Manager within the Electrical Group is responsible for assisting the Project Manager to manage and oversee all aspects related to project management, financial performance, tracking, and forecasting, scheduling, and change order management. This role requires establishing and maintaining outstanding customer relationships while ensuring project goals are met. The Assistant Project Manager will execute best practices and adhere to company policies and procedures. The essential duties and responsibilities include demonstrating financial acumen with a general understanding of costs, revenue, billings, projections, margins, gains, fades, commitments, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. The Assistant Project Manager will assist the Project Manager with change order estimates, identifying scope and scope gaps, and coordinating vendor and subcontractor quotes and scopes. A basic knowledge and understanding of scheduling work and integration with the general contractor's schedule is necessary, along with an understanding of pull planning and scheduling software such as Microsoft Project and P6. The role also involves understanding work breakdown structures and assisting the Project Manager and Project Superintendent to ensure deadlines are met, constraint logs are issued to the general contractor, and manpower is coherent with budgets. Daily tasks will include the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Smartsheets, Outlook, FTP, Procore, Spectrum, and other related project management software. Document control is a critical aspect of the role, requiring the analysis of blueprints/specifications, reviewing proposals/project requirements, and preparing and tracking submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings in Procore. The Assistant Project Manager will coordinate material procurement, ensure compliance with corporate policies and federal/state laws, provide status updates, and maintain documentation records. Leadership skills are essential for effective management of customers, vendors, subcontractors, and team members. The candidate must be comfortable with a system that has documented processes and procedures for all tasks and use technology platforms for financials and project management. Establishing and maintaining customer relations while balancing the protection of the company is crucial. The role also emphasizes fostering positive relationships with employees and clients, embracing and promoting corporate culture, and pushing for continuous improvement while demonstrating a desire for personal growth.
