About The Position

An Electrical Assembler is responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining electrical systems and components. They work with various types of wiring, cables, and connectors to ensure proper functioning of electrical equipment and systems. Electrical Assemblers may read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints, and they often work closely with electricians and other technicians to complete projects. They must adhere to safety regulations and follow industry standards to ensure the integrity and reliability of electrical systems. Supervision: None

Requirements

  • Minimum education level of a High School Diploma or General Education Equivalent Diploma is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand point-to-point wiring diagrams
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure
  • Must have a basic command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Safely use variety of hand/power tools.
  • Lift up to 50lbs using proper lifting techniques.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic computer knowledge considered and asset.
  • Knowledge of calibration
  • Read and understand spec sheet and master copy drawing.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow direction from Senior Assemblers and Lead Assemblers.

Responsibilities

  • Use hand tools (e.g. crimpers, strippers, torquing tools, calibrating tools, etc.) to perform tasks.
  • Run and bundle wires according to Powell wiring standards.
  • Layout, install, drill and tap devices onto doors and back pans.
  • Install name plates and space heaters.
  • Install and terminate CTs.
  • Operate continuity buzzers.
  • Terminate and run wire for MCC, SWGR, and harnesses according to wire diagram.
  • Promote a safety culture as well as attend all safety meetings.
  • Ensure that work areas remain clean and well organized.
  • Perform in process inspections
