About The Position

Our Electrical Assembly Technicians are an integral part of the American Products team. The Electrical Assembler position requires electrical wiring of communication shelters and enclosures, installing electrical components, and testing finished wiring. A Electrical Assembler will be assigned to a part of the line, but may switch stations in the assembly process at manager or supervisor designation or request.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred; not required
  • Two to three years of electrical experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and certification from an accredited electrical training program.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, shop floor documentation, customer specifications/diagrams, instructions provided by supervisors/managers.
  • Must have the mechanical aptitude to assemble products with high quality.
  • Requires the interpersonal skills to interact and collaborate with wide variety of internal personnel.
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot
  • Must be able to interact professionally, appropriately, and courteously with customers, co-workers and other outside parties.
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Shows concern for quality and practices continuous improvement;

Nice To Haves

  • Experience bending conduit is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the assembly of communication shelters and enclosures, including electrical wiring and installation of electrical components.
  • Lifts, positions, and assembles both metal and plastic products using air, battery, and small hand tools, as required.
  • Packages finished products (boxes, palletizes, and wraps);
  • Follow technical instructions, interpret engineering blueprints and technical terms.
  • Discern quality of parts and materials used in production.
  • Follow company procedures for safety.
  • Test finished products for defects.
  • Maintain the tools used to create products.
  • Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace.
