The Electrification & Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing in our Future Grids portfolio to create the power distribution grid of the future. We are looking for an Electrical Assembler for our Switchboard production team. This position will be based in Wendell, NC.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience in mechanical assembly or a related mechanical field.
  • 1+ years’ experience with commercial or industry wiring.
  • Basic proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Proficiency in reading and working with schematic drawings, layouts, and wire lists with minimal supervision.
  • Experience using standard hand and power tools, including pneumatic and battery-operated tools, wiring tools, and accurately reading a tape measure.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment within the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess some knowledge on electrical clearances.
  • Associates Degree or technical training in area of responsibility.
  • Proven record in Quality and Productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sub-assembly and final assembly wiring with high accuracy and workmanship, including proper stripping and crimping techniques.
  • Work with large power cables, ensuring correct crimping methods, and assemble components on panels per layouts or drawings.
  • Record job transactions, read BOMs, follow layouts and assembly drawings.
  • Set and use torque wrenches correctly, adhering to developed processes and seeking ways to improve.
  • Adhere to Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety policies, with a commitment to continuous improvement and be a strong team player.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Management.
