About The Position
Mestek Machinery, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Assembler to join our team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. As a leader in the design and manufacturing of innovative metal forming solutions for HVAC sheet metal ductwork and fittings, we pride ourselves on our cutting-edge technology and commitment to quality. The Electrical Assembler will play a crucial role in our production process by utilizing electrical instruments and assembling electrical consoles based on detailed electrical layouts. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical systems and the ability to work with various tools and equipment to ensure the highest quality of our products. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for reading blueprints and schematics to identify the necessary components for assembly. The Electrical Assembler will use multimeters and amp meters to test and troubleshoot electrical systems, ensuring that all wiring and connections are made correctly. The position involves drilling and punching boxes for conduit, making conduit and flex runs, and fastening them securely in place. The candidate will also be expected to perform control and power wiring, as well as basic soldering tasks. The job may require some physical demands, including climbing heights of up to 35 feet and lifting a maximum of 50 pounds. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work overtime based on business needs, although it is not mandatory. Additionally, skill blocks will be available after the probationary period, allowing for potential pay increases based on performance and skill development.
