Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Constructs and installs electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks.
  • Attaches wire or complicated electrical systems to fixtures and accessories such as transformers, instrument panels, and switchboards with fasteners.
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with quality specification.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • Receives some direction on normal work activities and general instructions on new assignments or activities.
  • Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.
  • Demonstrates complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
  • May support experimental work to optimize processes.
  • Delivers on day-to-day objectives with direct impact on achievement of results for job area.
  • May provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within job area.
