The Electrical Assembler II at Powell Industries, Inc. is responsible for performing various assembly duties on power control rooms, including the installation and termination of electrical conduit and devices. This role requires adherence to safety and manufacturing policies to ensure quality production. The position operates on a four-day work schedule with a shift differential for the second shift.

  • Install electrical devices such as disconnects, lights, panel boards, transformers, battery chargers, and VFDs.
  • Bend, run, and install conduit (EMT and Rigid).
  • Install wireway and cable tray.
  • Pull wire and large cable.
  • Cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires.
  • Install wiring by following standard work/process instructions (NEC Manual).
  • Learn and adhere to all safety policies and practices to avoid safety incidents.
  • Learn and adhere to all manufacturing policies and practices to ensure consistent production.
  • Ensure quality by following standard work/process instructions and identifying any potential risks to product quality.
  • Ensure that work areas remain clean and well organized.
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED and 3-5 years of relevant manufacturing experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Basic command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to bend conduit on a GB Sidewinder style bender (EMT and Rigid).
  • Experience installing cable tray and wire way.
  • Working knowledge of electricity, circuits, and functions of common components (panel boards, transformers, disconnects, terminal blocks, relays, lighting contactors, etc.).
  • Ability to perform tasks with minimal direction or supervision.
  • Working knowledge of relevant NEC Code sections.
