Job Summary Caterpillar Electrical Assemblers apply their electrical expertise to install components, cables, and wiring within electrical compartments. Guided by blueprints, schematics, and engineering change notices, their responsibilities include wiring, cabling, assembly, installation, and performing repairs as needed.

Requirements

  • Capable of performing electrical assembly within a single work area.
  • High diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one year in manufacturing, preferably in a heavy industrial environment.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2 years of experience in equipment assembly.
  • Bending conduit experience.
  • Rigging and crane experience and certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Install large components and sub-assemblies within electrical compartments.
  • Route loose wires and cables to the appropriate components within the electrical compartment;
  • Terminate cables and ensure proper connections throughout the electrical system.
  • Assist in resolving non-conformance issues.
  • Adhere to process documentation and quality gate requirements.
  • Verify gauge calibration for accuracy.
  • Apply torque values according to engineering specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Install wire harnesses and/or loose wires to panel assemblies, completing terminations at the correct electrical components.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members.
