About The Position

GENERAL DESCRIPTION Assemble, test, and rework cables, harnesses, mechanical and electromechanical products.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 0-2 years' experience
  • Able to comprehend and interpret oral and written work instructions, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, engineering instructions, and associated documentation pertaining to the electrical manufacturing process.
  • Able to demonstrate mechanical assembly ability of Electrical/Electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate coherently in English.
  • General computer skills

  • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, working at heights with fall protection devices.
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • May be required to lift up to 20 pounds and carry for short distances.
  • May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
  • Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of specifications required to produce products in a defense/aerospace manufacturing environment desired
  • Knowledge of "build to print" operations a plus
  • Certified in Cable and Wire Harness assembly (IPC-WHMA-A-620) or equivalent desired.
  • Certified in J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies) or equivalent desired.
  • Successful completion of all required Electrical Assembler I training with the ability to obtain required certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble products according to routers, drawings, and all other applicable documentation
  • Operate automatic stripping, crimping, wire cutting, and basic test equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Work together cohesively with co-workers to ensure a constructive teaming environment
  • Maintain acceptable test pass rates and quality acceptance rates.
  • Use manual hand tools for assembly and repetitive operation
  • Checks stock bins for adequate supplies of subassemblies, parts, and fasteners for the particular run. Checks for designated carton pack. Contacts material handler if shortages exists or incorrect parts are in bin.
  • From experience, resolves assembly and packing problems. Reports other problems to the Production Manager for assistance.
  • Involved with productivity and quality improvement efforts
  • Adhere to all company standards, policies and procedures.
  • Other Duties as Assigned
