We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Apprentice to join the team at our Woodhull, Illinois production location. Requirements

  • You have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Willing and able to obtain additional Electrician training, licenses, and certifications.
  • You have a valid driver's license and are willing and able to drive a company vehicle as needed.
  • You possess working knowledge and are willing and able to interpret the National Electric Code (NEC).
  • You are comfortable with technology and possess good computer aptitude including the use of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and are willing and able to learn other company specific applications as required.
  • You are willing and able to climb and/or work in elevated areas, stand, and sit for extended periods, work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions, lift up to 50 lbs. and perform work that involves repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting.
  • You can work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • You have good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • You have high attention to detail, can multitask, maintain an organized workplace, and have excellent problem-solving skills.
  • You value health and safety and will always work safely and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • You value serving your customers and know operations must be supported for optimal uptime, so you are willing and able to work hours required of this role.
  • You are willing and able to work rotating shifts and overtime hours including weekend work as needed during seasonal peaks to support production demand.

Nice To Haves

  • Two-year Technical / Vocational Degree in Electrical, Industrial Technology, Automation, or related field.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Automation and Programmable Logic Controls (PLC).
  • Previous experience with industrial or electrical production equipment (hydraulics, instrumentation and controls, HVAC, etc.).
  • Experience with E-Maintenance (or similar system) for work orders and parts inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the operation of company equipment including electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, control devices, and HVAC, for process and facility.
  • Work with the Maintenance Team to maintain the local Process Control Network, programming standards, and propose new equipment for the location.
  • Perform electrical repairs and scheduled inspections of equipment with Electrician approval, while following all prescribed guidelines and procedures.
  • Review and assist Electrician, Leaders, and Teams with the electrical safety program to ensure adherence and compliance.
  • Assist in the service, repairs and troubleshooting of any electrical or mechanical issues that arise.
  • Adhere to all quality systems & safety procedures including environmental regulations, OSHA, and PSM procedures in everyday work routine.
  • Make recommendations for improved safety through electrical programs and/or process changes including the addition of new devices, and hardware.
  • Help in maintaining the integrity of the PLC automation servers and processors.
  • Learn and understand the strategy for the Process Control Network operating production locations and assist with implementation.
  • Assist in the development, installation, inspection, and maintenance of new or enhanced mechanical and/or electrical equipment.
  • Observe, learn, and understand a wide range of skills and processes while under the instruction of skilled technical personnel.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, vehicles, or machinery.
