About The Position

F.H. Furr is seeking a motivated and dependable Electrical Apprentice to join our growing Electrical team in Ashland, VA. This entry-level position is designed for individuals eager to build a career in the electrical trade while receiving hands-on training under the guidance of licensed electricians. The Electrical Apprentice will assist with residential electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance while learning F.H. Furr safety standards, customer service expectations, and technical best practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Enrollment in or willingness to enroll in an electrical apprenticeship or trade program preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in the electrical trade
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong work ethic, dependability, and positive attitude
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, climb, and work in confined spaces for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, and outdoors in various weather conditions

  • Enrollment in or willingness to enroll in an electrical apprenticeship or trade program preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed electricians with residential electrical installations, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance
  • Learn and follow all local, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment
  • Support troubleshooting of electrical systems including wiring, panels, outlets, switches, and fixtures
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
  • Accurately complete required paperwork and job documentation
  • Provide professional and courteous service while in customers’ homes
  • Participate in on-the-job training and company-sponsored education programs
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
