Requirements

  • Must have successfully qualified as an Instrument & Control Repairman II, or have equivalent training in a similar job classification with a minimum of four (4) years instrumentation technician experience.
  • Ovation background is preferred.
  • Electrical Maintenance experience.
  • Must have extensive experience with DCS and PLC’s.
  • Must be able to read prints and equipment manuals.
  • Perform basic math calculations.
  • Basic computer skills—data entry, data retrieval.
  • Must possess working knowledge of Craft Tools.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to bend, lift, and stoop for extended periods.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, work from ladders and elevated platforms.
  • Must be able to work harmoniously with other workers.
  • Must have basic knowledge of plant processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of an Electrical or Instrumentation Apprenticeship program.
  • Medium voltage Electrical Maintenance experience.
  • HART Communication experience.
  • Relay experience.

Responsibilities

  • Install, test, calibrate, tune, maintain, repair and modify all plant electrical, instrument, and control systems at the highest level of skill in accordance with training, plant procedures and direction.
  • Understand and follow Company policies and procedures.
  • Understand and follow Federal and State safety regulations.
  • Understand theory, operation, troubleshooting of plant electrical and instrumentation equipment.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret schematics, logic drawings, or other prints or drawings as necessary.
  • Perform job setup including required materials, tools and special equipment normally associated with electrical or instrumentation at a generating station.
  • Perform complex system repair/trouble shooting using limited information and instructions.
  • Perform work alone or in a team setting and direct lower classifications as needed.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness and responsibility for the environmental considerations that impact them, their jobs and the Company to the level of their knowledge, training and experience.
  • Perform assigned work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with Company practices and procedures.
  • Work overtime as required.
