About the Program: The Electrical and Controls Leadership Program is rotational program focused on technical and leadership training at an Owens Corning manufacturing plant. Participants will be mentored by experienced maintenance and engineering professionals to improve efficiency and develop manufacturing solutions. The program includes opportunities for leadership in a manufacturing environment. Duration: The program spans 24 to 30 months. Rotations: Participants engage in rotations across various areas: Operations Leadership (6 months): Managing shift operations focused on optimizing safety, efficiency, and quality to maximize throughput. Electrical Supervision (6 months): Managing daily tasks of electrical technicians overseeing, gaining exposure to leading a department & long-term planning. External Controls Training (3 months) Helps to fine tune controls skills (outside of home plant) Controls Reliability (9 months): Emphasizes improving equipment reliability and performance. Program Outcome: Upon completion, participants will be placed in a full-time assignment as an Electrical Supervisor/Leader or Controls Specialist at a North American Owens Corning manufacturing plant. Requirements

  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or relevant major and/or relevant work experience in lieu of degree
  • Associates or Technical Certificate
  • Previous relevant internships/co-ops in a manufacturing setting
  • Demonstrated leadership in professional, service, or social organizations
  • Willingness and flexibility to relocate (assistance provided)
  • Willingness to work on call
  • Willingness to travel

Responsibilities

  • Engage in preventative maintenance programs and procedures for plant equipment.
  • Investigate and resolve work in process problems.
  • Assist in electrical duties and escalations to maintain equipment and minimize downtime
  • Focus on safety, automation, digitalization, strategic asset management, and data analytics.
  • Develop skills in safety leadership, project engineering, reliability processes, maintenance planning, and supervisory leadership.
  • Recommend and implement improvements for operations, equipment, and documentation.
  • Utilize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Total Productive Maintenance methodologies.
  • Network with peers across the division and enterprise
  • 24/7 unplanned stoppage support across the division
  • Electrical and controls troubleshooting
  • Oversee application installations and Life Cycle Management (LCM)
  • Training technicians across the division
  • Taking part in division and enterprise standards development and adaptation for automation and controls
  • FAT/SAT and commissioning activities in North America
  • Gain experience and competency in electrical design, automation related software, visualization and data analytics
  • Gain experience and competency in project budget and execution
