About The Position
The position provides electrical and/or electronic engineering technical support for a continuous, state of the art industrial melting facility. The role involves engineering, designing, installing, commissioning, and testing new equipment and equipment upgrades, including capital projects, while supervising and directing outside resources when applicable. The engineer will recommend modifications to improve reliability, quality, and productivity of the site equipment, oversee modifications as authorized, and work with engineering and management to develop solutions to recurring problems. The position also includes leading and participating in continuous improvement to processes, equipment, and maintenance, assisting in problem solving for unplanned downtime, and troubleshooting large industrial power supplies, drives, and furnace components. The engineer will issue reports documenting operational performance, achievements, projects, training, and maintenance work, and maintain a program of professional growth through selected seminars, courses, trade magazines, books, and journals. Effective communication of company and department goals, achievements, problems, solutions, practices, changes, and policies is essential, as is conducting all operations in a safe and clean environment while enforcing safety rules and regulations. The engineer will also support weekend and holiday assignments as required.
