About the position

This position is part of the regional Claim and Analysis Center, as part of thyssenkrupp Steering unit division, established to meet customer requirements and support problem resolution for warranty returns in the region. The engineering office and laboratory are located in Fishers, Indiana. The primary responsibility of this role is to coordinate and facilitate analysis-related activities, execute technical root cause investigations. Be an active member of the problem resolution team. Support warranty claim coordination to ensure customer satisfaction. The position is designated as onsite, requiring the employee to perform their duties in the company's designated lab. Hybrid or remote work arrangements are not supported by this role.

Responsibilities

  • Work individually and as part of a team on technical root cause analysis, failure-oriented testing
  • Coordinate standard test activities with the technician team, review results
  • High level of collaboration and interaction with claim coordination, supplier quality, product, test development to support root cause analysis, continuous improvement
  • Giving technical support to the Warranty Claim Coordinator to achieve the specified goals from the customer
  • Collect evidence during analysis, write analysis report as part of the 8D methodology. Meet the internal/external requirements regarding reporting quality
  • Upload analysis documentation into SAP, failure analysis application. Support tool development
  • Create guides/work instructions for process standardization
  • Coordinate third party lab tests and inspection (e.g. x-ray, CT, cross section, vibration, vehicle testing). Integrate results into analysis process
  • Definition and execution of failure oriented tests and measurement, evaluating the result and present them to the problem solving team
  • Supporting production plant analysis team, reviewing results, defining next steps
  • Align with suppliers in test protocols to replicate analysis findings in suppliers lab environment at external locations when needed
  • Other tasks stipulated in the individual goal setting agreement in line with the quality strategy of the company

Requirements

  • Strong teamwork and conflict resolution skills
  • E/E background with experience in Electrical Control Units
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of hardware and software interfaces, particularly in steering system design
  • Strong customer focus during daily work is a must
  • Experience with electrical/mechanical/acoustical testing and measurement equipment and methods
  • Self-motivated, analytical, and organized, with the ability to work systematically to fulfill requirements
  • Familiarity with IATF standards, field failure analysis, ESD, and health & safety standards is a plus
