About The Position

The Electric Motor Winder Technician position is a skilled role focused on the winding, assembly, and installation of coils in AC/DC rotating machines. The technician will work on the second shift and is responsible for diagnosing equipment issues, operating specialized repair equipment, and ensuring safety procedures are followed. This role is essential in maintaining the quality and efficiency of electrical rotating apparatus repairs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Good hand/eye coordination.
  • Understanding of electrical theory and strong mechanical aptitude/skills.
  • Ability to wear necessary protective equipment.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written).
  • Authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Previous motor winding experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring devices, such as micrometers and calipers.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect equipment and parts for damage and diagnose possible issues.
  • Wind, assemble, and install various types of coils in AC/DC rotating machines using industry best practices.
  • Operate specialized repair and testing equipment used in the electrical rotating apparatus repair industry.
  • Braze using oxy-acetylene, induction, and/or resistance welding techniques.
  • Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective equipment.
  • Complete required job documentation.
  • Provide feedback to assist in accurate costing and work scope development for rewind projects.
  • Utilize manufacturer's recommendations and industry best practices.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance as required on equipment in the work area.
  • Clean and organize the shop to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
  • Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by supervision.
