About The Position

The position involves troubleshooting and repairing various electrical mechanical rotating equipment based on the technician's skillset and mechanical aptitude. The job is located in Phoenix, AZ, and candidates must be willing to relocate, with a relocation package available.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Trade school, vocational/technical school, military, or on-the-job technician training and/or certifications is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow all Safety processes and procedures including the use of required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Read job cards to determine job status, work authorization/limitations, estimate, description of problems and/or work scope.
  • Test electro-mechanical rotating equipment to troubleshoot known or suspected problems using various testing methods (AC/DC).
  • Disassemble equipment noting parts identification, configuration and condition.
  • Operate grinders, drills, cranes, forklift trucks, torches, cut off saws, etc.
  • Clean equipment assemblies as needed through various methods including parts washers, steam cleaners, and sand blasters.
  • Measure for and note proper replacement parts while correctly submitting a requisition for the needed items.
  • Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical or electrical parts and assemblies as required per the ISS technical traveler.
  • Test repaired apparatus for proper output and/or operation as per ISS or customer specifications.
  • Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Operate specialized repair and testing equipment such as Multi-Meter, Megohm Meter, Surge Tester, Hi-pot Tester, and Motor Test Panels.
  • Balance various types of rotating equipment including fans, rotors, armatures, rolls, impellers, blowers, etc.
  • Keep work area safe, clean, and organized.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.
