About The Position

At Romanoff Industries, Electric Motor Mechanics are crucial to their reputation as a trusted name in the industry. This role involves working in the Toledo shop to disassemble, repair, test, and recondition AC/DC motors. No prior motor experience is required, only a strong mechanical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and a strong work ethic. Founded in 1979, Romanoff Industries has grown significantly, operating from a 150,000+ sq. ft. headquarters in Toledo, OH, with additional locations in Henderson, NV, and Baton Rouge, LA. They serve end-users and resellers nationwide, having established their own reconditioning standards. Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude; you understand how things work and can figure out how to fix them.
  • Physical strength and stamina for hands-on shop work, lifting, moving, and working with heavy equipment.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to interpret measurements accurately.
  • Willingness to learn and grow, we'll teach you the rest.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with electric motors, controls, or electrical systems, a strong head start.
  • Background in a related mechanical or industrial trade (machinist, maintenance technician, electrician, etc.).
  • Forklift or overhead crane experience.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble AC/DC electric motors and accessories to Romanoff's stringent quality standards.
  • Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment to safely position parts throughout the repair process.
  • Maintain all shop tools and equipment in proper working order; keep your workspace clean and organized to standard.
  • Perform routine motor testing including: megging, surge/hipot testing, micrometer fits, single-phase rotor tests, growler tests, drop tests, bar-to-bar tests, and dynamic balancing.
  • Work in full accordance with all safety guidelines — every job, every time.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time for every order.
