Electric Generation Manager

Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB)Eugene, OR

About The Position

EWEB seeks an Electric Generation Manager to lead the operation, planning, and long-term performance of our owned electric generation assets, including hydroelectric, wind, and thermal. This role combines operational leadership with strategic planning, to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant power generation while shaping the future of our energy portfolio. As Electric Generation Manager, you will play a critical role in keeping our community-powered utilities running smoothly. You’ll oversee teams responsible for operations, engineering, dam safety, regulatory compliance, and emergency response, while ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. Your leadership will directly influence asset performance, capital investment decisions, and long-term planning. Acting as EWEB’s representative with regulatory agencies, contractors, and community stakeholders, you will help define the future of the region’s energy generation while ensuring high standards of safety and compliance. Over the next several years, EWEB will be implementing the major capital infrastructure requirements of a FERC license, developing decommissioning plans for another hydroelectric project, and making long-term asset decisions—initiatives that will shape the organization’s energy strategy for decades. This position is ideal for a leader with significant experience in electric generation operations and management, who thrives at the intersection of operational oversight, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement, and who is motivated by making a lasting impact on both the organization and the community it serves.
