About The Position

CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Electric Distribution Engineer III to join our Power & Manufacturing – Electric Distribution Team at our Reading, PA or Fort Washington, PA office. What You'll Do: CHA’s distribution design engineers have the deep experience and skillset to plan, design, and permit sustainable electric distribution infrastructure and all types of utility distribution systems. To realize the dependable, cost-effective interconnection of overhead and underground assets, we visualize, analyze and optimize how the system functions with itself and outside systems, and improve energy delivery and grid resilience. The Electric Distribution Engineer III conducts the design development, implementation, and technical analysis of various systems to implement new products, or changes to an existing scheme, to suit individual client needs. At CHA, the professional in this role works on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements. The Electric Distribution Engineer III monitors progress and performance against the project plan and acts immediately to resolve operational problems and minimize delays, as well as recognizes technical discrepancies in analytical results, and makes appropriate corrections. This individual identifies, develops, and gathers technical resources necessary to complete assignments. Additionally, the Electric Distribution Engineer III completes field assignments when appropriate. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required
  • Minimum of 3 years of related engineering experience is required
  • Demonstrates a strong working knowledge of the respective engineering field as well as proven ability to practically apply it in a professional environment
  • Proficient in engineering, computational, and modeling software (PLS-CADD, Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Understands QA/QC procedures
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist more senior staff
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred
  • Participation in a professional engineering society/organization is preferred
