This is a 7‑month hybrid contract position based in Phillips, WI, with up to 25% travel, requiring a mix of onsite and remote work. You will create, update, and revise sketches, working drawings, and contract documents using GE Smallworld GIS and standard drafting techniques. You will work with engineering, architectural, and technical services teams to translate customer and project requirements into accurate 2D and 3D design models. Responsibilities include electric system design, transformer sizing, underground cable routing, pole placement, and preparation of documentation such as bills of material and construction support drawings. You will blend technical design work, customer interaction, and field assessments to support safe, reliable electric service delivery.

Requirements

  • Experience with GE Smallworld GIS or AutoCAD
  • Background in electrical, utility, construction, or infrastructure environments
  • Experience preparing 2D/3D models and design documentation
  • High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Review new customer requests and project information in SAP
  • Create, revising, and maintaining electric distribution drawings using GE Smallworld GIS
  • Prepare 2D and 3D models, sketches, working drawings, and contract documents
  • Read and interpret customer requirements, data sheets, engineering drawings, and blueprints
  • Coordinate with engineering, architectural, and technical services staff under the direction of a supervisor
  • Conduct field visits to residential, commercial, or construction sites (approximately 30% of the role)
  • Prepare documentation to support design drawings, including bills of material and schedules
  • Assist engineering personnel with drawing transmittals and addressing construction‑related questions
