About The Position
The Electric and Water System Operator (EWSO) is responsible for ensuring the reliable, efficient, and safe operation of the City of Santa Clara's electric, water, and storm sewer systems. This role involves monitoring and operating municipal electric power, water, transmission, and distribution systems, as well as coordinating planned and unplanned power outages. The EWSO must comply with NERC reliability standards and is tasked with implementing real-time actions to maintain the stability and reliability of the Bulk Electric System. The position requires 24/7 staffing with a rotation of 12-hour shifts.
