About The Position

This is a part time, on-site teacher role located in Chicago, IL. This is a teacher created course that focuses on the arts, movement, or STEAM. Teachers who teach an elective course will need to submit a proposal for their course idea to be approved by their Campus Manager. As an Electives Teacher , you will be responsible for creating lesson plans, providing education to middle school students, and effectively communicating with students, parents, and staff. Elective teachers will grade and track the progress of their students and keep an updated Google Classroom for students with assignments and feedback and inform parents about their progress. Teachers will communicate with Teaching Assistants about how they can engage in the classroom and with students. Teachers are responsible for maintaining a safe and respectful classroom environment in order to optimize student capabilities and develop their love of learning.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age
• Associates degree minimum
• Please provide 2 professional references!

Nice To Haves

• Bachelors degree preferred
• Teaching certification not required but preferred for content areas
• Experience working with students or in organizations that serve youth

Responsibilities
