The position involves performing various types of inside wiring related to the installation of electric appliances such as stoves, water heaters, and air conditioning equipment in domestic, commercial, and industrial settings. The role includes repairing electric appliances, installing fuses, and making repairs to customer service drops and meter connections. The technician will also maintain and install heating and air conditioning equipment, lighting and occupancy sensors, and fire protection systems. Troubleshooting and repairing motors and control circuit equipment are also key responsibilities. The position requires working from heights using ladders and scaffolding, and the technician will operate a Building Management System while overseeing work crews and contractors. Additional duties may include operating automotive equipment and performing related tasks as directed.

  • Perform all types of inside wiring for electric appliances installation.
  • Repair electric appliances and install fuses.
  • Install or repair customer service drops, meter connections, and related wiring.
  • Assist in the installation of gas appliances and piping.
  • Maintain, repair, and install heating and air conditioning equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair fractional and integral horsepower motors.
  • Work from ladders and scaffolding at varying heights.
  • Operate Building Management System.
  • Direct the work of others and oversee work crews.
  • Perform other related or less skilled work as required.
  • Some high school or vocational school education or equivalent.
  • Proper temperament for dealing with customers.
  • Master Electrician's license in good standing in Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts and scheduled hours.
  • Ability to work from a ladder.
  • Valid vehicle operator's license.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Availability for overtime or standby as needed.
  • Pass qualification test prior to job awarding.
  • Delaware Board of Electrical Examiners Master Electrician License.
  • Experience with generator, UPS, and switchgear maintenance.
  • Skill in minor facility electrical repairs and carpentry.
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems and controls.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Experience with HVAC system electrical components.
  • Hourly rate of $48.36.
