About The Position

The eLearning Technologist bridges pedagogy and technology by designing, developing, and maintaining digital learning content.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree completed or in process is preferred, focusing on instructional design, instructional technology, communication technology, or related field. Or, equivalent hands-on work experience in the curriculum or video editing, gamification arena.
  • 3 years’ of combined education and experience with proven skills in eLearning development, instructional design, video editing or graphic design industry.
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles, Competency-based Education and Kolbs Experiential Learning Cycle
  • Experience working with subject matter experts, (SME)
  • Strong writing skills, content editing, and attention to detail to consistently meet high standards of excellence.
  • Some video editing exposure.
  • Demonstrated team-oriented and self-motivated experiences.
  • Exceptional communication skills and proven ability to network.
  • Experience in an independent environment to proactively troubleshoot and manage assigned projects.
  • Expert capabilities on both Mac and PC platforms.
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Must be Internet and social media savvy.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain current in latest social media platforms and online technologies to effectively apply new work methods and techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and interact in a collaborative team environment in which members respect and partner with each other to achieve results.
  • Examples of simulations, gamified learning, videos, and screen recordings that demonstrate software skills and authoring tool samples, specific, clickable modules created with tools like Articulate Storyline, Rise, or Captivate.

Responsibilities

  • Create self-directed instructional videos, micro-learning clips, or demo walkthroughs for adult learners.
  • Assist with the design/development of learning modules where content exists but is not in an eLearning friendly format.
  • Author content using outlines, storyboards, simulations, gamification, and eLearning modules to improve the overall learning experience.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to create engaging, interactive online trainings and courses.
  • Create content using authoring tools, such as Articulate 360.
  • Update and format courses in Canvas each semester, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Assist with continuing education webinar production, rehearsals, and technical setup to ensure smooth, professional delivery.
  • Use Canva or other design software for basic graphic and video creation.
  • Assist with other departmental writing/design projects as needed.
  • Manage multiple projects and independently prioritize tasks.
  • Contribute to creating a warm, supportive online learning community.
  • Regular and reliable attendance at the worksite and adhere to assigned schedule.
  • Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures per the guidebook including all safety requirements including all safety guidelines
  • Utilize electronic time management system to input time, attendance and paid time off request.
