Who We Are Seeking: Our Health & Social Services (H&SS) Department is seeking an organized and passionate Elders Lunch Coordinator to prepare tasty, nourishing meals for our Elders Lunch Program. This role plans, prepares, and cooks four nutritious meals each week; one on-site congregate meal and three take-home meals, while coordinating menu approval with a dietician to meet dietary guidelines. Responsibilities include grocery shopping, budget and supply tracking, recordkeeping, and reporting, as well as ensuring compliance with OAA Title VI Program requirements. The Elders Lunch Coordinator also provides guidance to the Lunch Assistant, staff, and volunteers and helps create a welcoming dining experience for Elders in support of CVTC’s mission of ‘helping our citizens and community to thrive.’

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience preparing nutritious meals for congregate or group settings (preferred). We are willing to train CNV Tribal Citizens.
  • Food Safety Card required; ServSafe Manager Certification preferred or willingness to obtain shortly after hire.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including tracking receipts and maintaining records; ability to learn new software.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet competing deadlines.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and leadership skills, with the ability to work well with diverse populations and as part of a team.
  • A valid Alaska Driver’s license and the ability to be insured on CVTC’s vehicle insurance policy is a requirement of this position.
  • This position requires you to complete and pass a pre-employment state and federal background check and drug screening as a condition of employment.
