Requirements

• Current state of Michigan certification as a Nursing Assistant (Required within 4 months of Hire).
• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
• Successful Completion of Nurse Aide Training Program Required.
• BLS Certification Required (Certification Available Upon Hire).
• Annual Influenza Vaccination or Declination Required.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care skills under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrate safe practices with caring for patients.
• Provide general nursing care such as positioning the patient, lifting, turning, applying/utilizing special equipment, assisting in the use of bed pan, urinal or commode, ambulating the patient, bed bath, oral and hair care, changing bed linens, cleaning and straightening patient room and other general care necessary.
• Take and record vitals and intake and output measurements accurately. Document in a timely manner.
• Answer Elder call lights, telephone, and paging system and respond as appropriate.
