About The Position

The position involves developing and implementing lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district's curriculum program, ensuring that written evidence of preparation is provided as required. The teacher will prepare lessons that accommodate different student learning styles and present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, Board of Trustee policies, and administrative regulations. Efficient classroom management procedures must be established, along with maintaining standards of pupil behavior. The teacher will evaluate students within the guidelines prescribed by state law or adopted by the school district, continually assess and record various aspects of students' progress, and report to parents as needed. The role requires teaching within the prescribed course of study for the subject area at the grade level, planning lessons leading to subject area objectives, and providing a variety of planned learning experiences using different media and methods to motivate students. The teacher will also identify pupil needs, cooperate with other professional staff members, and be available for counseling with students and parents. Responsibilities include interpreting educational programs to the community, planning and coordinating the work of aides and other paraprofessionals, participating in the evaluation system development, keeping accurate records, and performing all other tasks as assigned. Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required.
