About the position
Under the supervision of the site administrator, this position provides an educational program for students that encompasses basic skills and motivates them to develop the skills, attitude, and knowledge needed for a solid educational foundation. The educator will prepare students by using information about individual students' academic strengths, needs, and progress in planning their educational activities. The role involves providing academic services that engage students in work aligned with the California Common Core Standards, utilizing resources that promote high levels of learning and student engagement, and following established policies and procedures for reporting incidents such as child abuse, bullying, harassment, and violence.
Responsibilities
- Provide an educational program for students that encompasses basic skills.
- Motivate students to develop the skills, attitude, and knowledge needed for a good educational foundation.
- Use information about individual students' academic strengths, needs, and progress in planning.
- Provide academic service to engage students in work aligned to the California Common Core Standards.
- Utilize resources that promote high levels of learning and student engagement.
- Follow established policies and procedures for reporting incidents.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree plus appropriate coursework to qualify for teaching credential.
- Appropriate CA credential authorizing the teaching of students in ELD and Reading.
Nice-to-haves
- Multiple Subjects Credential with one of the following EL authorizations: ELA, ELAM, ELAS, ELAE, ELAP, CLAD Certificate SA12, Bilingual Authorization, Certificate of Completion of Staff Development S17D.
