Ability to complete routine EKG procedures in accordance with the American Heart Association standards and department policies. Demonstrates a full knowledge of the principles of basic EKG. Completes daily scheduled tests in the appropriate time frame and to population specific group. Ability to demonstrate use of digital EKG machine. Ability to understand the usage and function of a wireless EKG transmitting and processing system. Ability to understand and demonstrate digital downtime policies. Ability to follow step by step instruction for the processing of an EKG, recognize and correct processing problems. Ability to process a Pediatric EKG. Ability to properly identify and prepare the patient. Explain the procedure. Ability to navigate through an electronic medical record. Maintain privacy during test. Ability to clean and stock machine as per department policy and record in departmental cleaning log book. Assist in stocking and ordering of department supplies and equipment. Ability to maintain equipment in a working condition, recognize and trouble shoot malfunctioning equipment. Ability to coordinate and prioritize work assignments on a daily basis. Ability to respond efficiently to STAT call. Ability to respond appropriately to a critical value. Adheres to the departmental policy on critical values. Ability to provide Cardiologists with the appropriate information necessary for interpretation. Perform Cardiac stress tests and apply holter monitors as per department policies. Performs the required code cart checks and evaluates the defibrillator as per policy. Ability to communicate to supervisor and/or Cardiologists problems associated with patient and procedure.
