As an Electrocardiogram (EKG) Technician, you will work with medically to critically ill patients, providing essential diagnostic EKGs used in their treatment. In this role, you will be responsive to patient needs and discomfort, work independently to enhance the healthcare experience, and offer continuous patient-centered care. You will perform diagnostic electrocardiograms to support timely and accurate clinical decisions. A caregiver in this role works days from 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Six months of experience related to direct patient care or customer service OR completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology, Paramedic or Medical Assistant Program

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare experience
  • Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology, Paramedic or Medical Assistant Program
  • EKG Certification

Responsibilities

  • Position and connect leads from electrocardiograph machine to electrodes on specified body areas.
  • Review patients records and instruct patients prior to procedures.
  • Monitor patient during procedures and report any abnormal findings.
  • Identify and correct for wandering, interference and artifacts.
  • Edit and forward results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
  • Maintain EKG equipment and supplies.
