About The Position

At Dignity Health-Yavapai Regional Medical Center (DH-YRMC), part of CommonSpirit Health, we are committed to providing a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services. As an EKG Tech, you will play a vital role in delivering cardiodiagnostic services as ordered by physicians, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures. You will independently perform computer-assisted electrocardiograms and process EKG test results, contributing to our mission of quality care and community health. Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology or successful completion of medical terminology course within six months of hire.
  • Six months experience in a healthcare setting.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Windows.

Nice To Haves

  • Acute care experience with Electronic Medical Records or Cerner experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide all cardiodiagnostic services as ordered by physician.
  • Independently perform computer-assisted electrocardiograms according to specifications in the procedure manual.
  • Process EKG test results using the computer system and edit EKG reports.
  • Assist with scanning of Holter monitor recordings and processing of results, including typing, sending, filing, and scheduling.
  • Assist with evaluations of transtelephonic strips and processing of results.
  • Schedule and perform treadmill tests, process test results, and report results to cardiologist.
  • Assist with general clerical duties, including testing logbooks, billing, and charge reconciliation.
  • Support the organization's strategic plan and goals for quality improvement and a teaching environment.
