This job provides individualized, direct patient care of assigned patients by performing quality 12 Lead electrocardiograph (EKG) tests. Maintains the cleanliness and maintenance of EKG equipment. Performs all clerical duties dictated by leadership. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

  • Education Required – High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certifications Required – Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of 12 Lead EKG tests.
  • Ability to recognize arrhythmias accurately.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, work independently, set priorities, and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, extended shifts, etc.
  • Effective planning, judgment and decision making skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT).

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, instructs and educates patients on the procedure.
  • Performs diagnostic procedures.
  • Documents and maintains patient records.
  • Prepares work area.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
