About The Position
The EKG Technician assumes responsibility for providing diagnostic EKG services. Adheres to policies and procedures in the assessment, implementation, and reporting of EKG services provided. The EKG Technician must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients served in his/her department. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Must possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status, interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs, and provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Course work in reading, writing, and math.
- Biology course work in anatomy & physiology, and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- BLS
- Minimum one year experience in acute care facility preferred.
- Will consider recent graduate of medical program at career academy.
