ROLE: EIT - Drainage Engineer (Engineer-in-Training) Summary: BGE is seeking a EIT - Drainage Engineer(Engineer-in-Training) to join the Public Works department in South Austin Office (Directors Blvd x I-35).....or North Austin Office (Louis Henna Blvd x Ix35) to support across all other departments (transportation, land/site) with Drainage project work. Job Description Independently performs engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives with general oversight from supervisor and/or Project Manager Responsible for preparation of drainage analysis and preliminary engineering report studies. Design of drainage improvements associated with transportation or public works. Responsible for preparing construction documents and reports Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering from an accredited university required
  • Engineer-in-Training OR Engineering Intern certification is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment

Nice To Haves

  • Any emphasis on drainage projects would be a strong plus
  • Experience with MicroStation Open Roads program a strong plus
  • Prior experience in professional experience doing civil engineering for public works
  • Understanding of local governmental public and private development codes and ordinances is preferred.
