The EIFS Journeyman is a skilled construction worker responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS) on buildings. This role requires a high level of technical expertise in applying EIFS materials and techniques while adhering to building codes and safety regulations. The position involves working independently and as part of a team to ensure quality workmanship in various EIFS applications.

  • Accurately measure, cut, and install EIFS substrates and insulation boards on building walls.
  • Apply adhesive and properly install reinforcing mesh according to specifications.
  • Apply base coats and textured finish coats using various application methods.
  • Install trims, beads, and flashings to ensure proper water management.
  • Perform detailed finishing work including tooling and smoothing of surfaces.
  • Diagnose and repair EIFS system defects like cracks, water infiltration, and loose components.
  • Perform patching and re-texturing of damaged EIFS areas.
  • Replace deteriorated or damaged EIFS components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications to ensure proper EIFS installation.
  • Select and properly use various EIFS materials and application tools.
  • Completion of a recognized EIFS apprenticeship program.
  • Proven experience in EIFS installation and repair.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid license and certifications as required by local regulation.
