This role bridges Operational Technology & Electrical and Controls (OT&EIC) engineering, manufacturing execution systems (MES), and IT/OT convergence. You will be responsible for designing, deploying, integrating, and sustaining electrical control systems, industrial networks, and support MES platforms (e.g., AVEVA) for manufacturing plants across Burt's Bees/Foods. You will work on capital projects, digital transformation pilots, and continuous improvement initiatives from concept to startup, partnering with both plant teams, the corporate OT&EIC team and the MES Center of Excellence.

  • Lead or support all phases of medium size capital and technology projects: conceptual design, scope definition, cost estimating, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, and validation.
  • Develop and manage project estimates, schedules, specifications, and vendor contracts.
  • Apply Clorox Early Management principles to ensure vertical and sustainable project execution.
  • Design, configure, and troubleshoot electrical control systems, PLC logic, industrial networks, and SCADA.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, ANSI, IEC, NEMA, NFPA, ISA-S88, and PackML standards.
  • Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of OT systems that enable secure and reliable data flow between plant-floor equipment and enterprise systems.
  • Work with corporate OT systems team to apply network configuration, segmentation, and patching in compliance with corporate standards and policies.
  • Assist in troubleshooting industrial network issues and restoring connectivity between MES, SCADA, and control systems.
  • Ensure that plant systems and devices meet cybersecurity guidelines and participate in periodic security audits.
  • Support operation of MES systems (e.g., AVEVA MES) to meet plant production needs.
  • Maintain equipment connectivity, data mapping, and basic product/recipe configurations in alignment with corporate standards.
  • Collaborate with the MES Center of Excellence (CoE) and central OT&EIC team to ensure local configurations meet global architecture, data, and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Assist in troubleshooting MES-related issues and escalate complex problems to the MES CoE when needed.
  • Validate that data from PLCs and other plant-floor systems is accurate and complete for key metrics (e.g., OEE, downtime, yield).
  • Represent the BU/Plants in improvement of dashboards, reports, and system documentation to support daily operations and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, quality, and central engineering teams to deliver reliable systems that meet safety, quality, and cost targets.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and knowledge-sharing to plant engineers, technicians, and operators.
  • Manage outside engineering firms, vendors, and contractors to deliver technical solutions.
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, electrical systems and power distribution, control systems, and/or MES configuration.
  • Experience applying NEC, ANSI, IEC, NEMA, and NFPA standards
  • Proficiency with Rockwell Automation platforms (PLCs, Stratix switches, drives, EtherNet/IP, RSLinx, SCADA).
  • Working knowledge of MES, SCADA, historian systems, and SQL data integration.
  • Understanding of industrial networking, protocols (OPC, EtherNet/IP, etc.), and IT/OT convergence principles.
  • Ability to read, develop, and interpret P&IDs, control schematics, electrical drawings and network diagrams.
  • Proven project management skills with on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Must be comfortable with 25%-50% travel
  • Engineering or operations experience with packaging equipment and systems preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE), PMP, or relevant IT/OT/security certifications (CISSP, CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+). (preferred)
  • AVEVA MES configuration experience. (preferred)
  • Experience in CPG, food, or discrete manufacturing environments. (preferred)
