About The Position
The EI&C Senior Instrumentation, Control & Automation Specialist at Chevron is a pivotal role that requires a deep understanding of instrumentation, control systems, and automation technologies, including SCADA. This position is responsible for providing expert knowledge and training to personnel in these areas, ensuring that operations are conducted safely and efficiently. The specialist will support the RBU Process Control Network (PCN), Automation SCADA, and telecommunication systems for both new and existing production facilities, which is crucial for maintaining reliable production operations. In this role, the specialist will author complex procedures, standards, and guidelines that will be utilized by the entire team, particularly focusing on advanced programming and the application of new technologies. Training and mentoring of Operations and Engineering personnel will be a key responsibility, ensuring that the team is well-equipped to handle the intricacies of control systems and automation. The specialist will also be tasked with interpreting Control Philosophies, Cause and Effects, and P&IDs. This includes developing, testing, documenting, and maintaining standardized PLC and ArchestrA object-based programs, templates, processes, and tools. These efforts are essential for managing and sustaining programming code for both new and existing Oil & Gas production facilities. Support activities will encompass managing and maintaining SCADA HMIs, PLCs, applications, and communication systems to ensure their reliability and availability. The specialist will also play a role in supporting Operations production reliability and optimization efforts, as well as ensuring compliance with PCN Information Risk Management (IRM) standards. This position may require occasional travel to various sites as needed.
