Posting Close Date: 01/21/2026 Ovintiv’s Texas Operating Area (TOA) is seeking a highly motivated EI&C Construction Coordinator to join our Facilities Construction team in the Permian Basin. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, safety‑driven professional with strong technical expertise and a commitment to operational excellence. Success in this role requires integrity, adaptability, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams across all levels of experience.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) within field operations.
  • Experience with construction safe work practices and procedures.
  • 7+ years of electrical and/or automation experience in the oil & gas industry or industrial construction.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical instrumentation, controls, and relevant industry codes (OSHA1910 and 1926, NFPA 70/70E/70B).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and experience with documentation and communication tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman Electrical License is an asset but not required.
  • Construction project management experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the Construction Superintendent and Health & Safety team to reinforce Ovintiv’s safety culture.
  • Promote and model safe work practices across all construction activities.
  • Coordinate and supervise electrical and automation construction activities for production facilities, well pads, compression equipment, and SWDs.
  • Ensure all projects are executed in compliance with applicable regulations, codes, Ovintiv standards, and engineering design requirements.
  • Conduct routine field inspections to evaluate contractor performance, quality, and compliance.
  • Work with Construction Superintendents, peer Coordinators, Electrical Engineers, and Facility Engineers to support construction reviews, bid package development, and bid evaluations.
  • Develop a strong understanding of project scope, electrical discipline requirements, and quality expectations.
  • Assist in maintaining Ovintiv’s standard electrical and automation construction details and work packages.
  • Interpret and work from construction documents including scopes of work, electrical one‑line diagrams, and vendor documentation.
  • Coordinate low‑voltage electrical and automation work with medium‑voltage and mechanical construction to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Identify and communicate detailed quality requirements based on contract specifications and applicable codes.
  • Coordinate electrical and automation equipment inventories and deliveries.
  • Review material orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage contractor scopes to minimize change orders and unexpected costs.
  • Maintain a qualified contractor list for electrical and automation work.
  • Monitor project schedules, costs, and construction cycle times.
  • Review and approve invoices promptly and prepare monthly cost projections.
