About The Position

The EHS & Training Coordinator is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company’s Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs and employee training initiatives. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements while promoting a strong safety culture. The coordinator will also oversee training logistics, maintain training records, and assist in developing training content to support operational excellence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a EHS role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing and maintaining OSHA, EPA, and state/local regulatory compliance programs.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking.
  • Maintain and update EHS documentation, SDS library, permits, and compliance records.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and lead safety initiatives or campaigns.
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene activities such as air sampling, noise monitoring, and PPE assessments.
  • Help manage waste disposal programs, spill response procedures, and environmental reporting as required.
  • Support emergency response planning, drills, and training.
  • Assist in the creation, review, and ongoing maintenance of Job Safety Assessments (JSAs) to ensure tasks are evaluated for hazards, controls are implemented, and employees are trained on safe work practices.
  • Work with supervisors, leads, and subject matter experts to update JSAs as processes, equipment, or job tasks change.
  • Maintain an organized JSA database, track review cycles, and ensure accessibility for employees and auditors.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and track all employee training programs, including new hire onboarding, safety training, and job specific skills development.
  • Maintain a digital training database and ensure accurate, up to date training records for all employees.
  • Assist in creating training materials such as presentations, SOPs, manuals, and learning modules.
  • Conduct or facilitate training sessions when needed (e.g., PPE training, safety awareness, lockout/tagout, hazard communication).
  • Work with supervisors to identify training needs and ensure required certifications are kept current.
  • Monitor training compliance and generate reports for internal use or audits.
