About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a EHS Technician. This position is ONSITE Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm at our Asheville (Arden) NC Eaton facility. In the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Technician role, you will be responsible for assisting with the implementation and deployment of the (Management System of Environmental, Safety, Security and Health) MESH initiatives, enforcing compliance to OSHA guidelines and environmental/permit regulated compliance standards which will require close project leadership with management, engineering, and facility employees. Assist in providing safety training, safety guidance, regulatory compliance process leads and process and incident resolutions to all levels of the organization. Additional responsibilities include responding to requests for electrical repairs and breakdowns as well as perform routine The expected annual salary range for this role is $56000 - $83000 a year. What you’ll do: In this role: • You will contribute to a safe, engaged and inclusive work culture by complying with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties. • You will assist with the implementation of MESH (Management System of Environmental, Safety, Security and Health) and will utilize MESH tools to drive improvements by participating and co-leading MESH Teams. • You will prepare and deliver presentations across all functions to ensure compliance to MESH guidelines and persuade or lead teams to effective resolutions. • You will work closely with management, engineering and facility employees at all levels to facilitate, lead, and/or assist teams in achieving department and plant goals as related to MESH, both safety standards and compliance to environmental/permit regulations.

Requirements

  • Associates degree from an accredited institution
  • Relocation is not offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate Arden, NC area (50 miles) will be considered for this position (with exception of internal candidates currently assigned to one of our Arden, NC sites)

  • Proficient with computers and programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Must work somewhat independently and make decisions that affect the workgroup. Focus efforts on attaining assigned goals and objectives, which include meeting needs and expectations of internal and external customers.
  • Able to direct and influence others without formal leadership authority.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health, Safety, or Occupational Health or STEM from an accredited institution.
  • Additional knowledge and/or experience leading projects, conducting analysis for root cause identification, and understanding how to identify problems and reach resolutions is beneficial.
  • 3+ months of manufacturing experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • 3+ months of experience using hand and air tools
  • Working knowledge of Powdercoat and Fabrication operation/functionality.
