About The Position

Do you have a passion to make a difference and positively impact young children and their families? At YCCAC Head Start, we are more than a daycare. We are committed to providing high-quality child care and comprehensive education, health and well-being services to children from 6 weeks to 5 years. We are now hiring a Teacher in Training to join us in our mission of creating a warm and supportive environment where children and families can thrive. What we offer: $5,000 sign-on bonus payable in four installments ($1,000 after completion of months 3, 6, 9 & $2,000 after 1 year – external applicants only). Financial funding for career growth and professional development. Your role: Plans, implements and documents a comprehensive child development program for infants and toddlers. Assumes responsibilities of Primary Caregiving, assuring continuity of care. Develops child focused goals in partnership with families, adheres to timelines and coordinates center/home visits with each family. Ensures Agency’s full compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and Maine State Licensing Requirements.

Requirements

  • The Teacher-in-Training must obtain an Infant/Toddler CDA 12 months after they are hired in the position. YCCAC will financially support the Teacher-in-Training with completing their CDA.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours to meet families’ needs and have a reliable vehicle for travel.
  • Immunized against MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and TDaP (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis).
  • Must be able to pass a background check, to include DHHS and fingerprinting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a center or home-based setting, specializing in infant and toddlers preferred.
